Our uniquely developed School Forest, created using the Miyawaki method, is a thriving green haven nurtured by students and staff. With 160 saplings planted, it fosters biodiversity and hands-on learning through activities like canopy studies and herbarium preparation. This living classroom promotes ecosystem restoration, rewilding, and environmental stewardship, encouraging all stakeholders to collaborate in developing innovative, real-world solutions for a greener, more sustainable future.

Zero-waste management and vermicomposting is practised by recycling biodegradable waste. The nutrient-rich compost produced is used for our gardens, creating a closed-loop system ensuring organic practices. Awareness is created on waste segregation and reduction which is integral to our eco-club activities.

Solar energy systems have been installed that power our campus. This aligns with our strong commitment to sustainability. This also motivates students to think and use resources judiciously.

Such initiatives inspire students to understand solar technology and its major role in reducing dependence on conventional energy sources. It is a daily reminder to them that conservation of energy through alternative sources is the viable way ahead.

At DPS Patna, we actively promote the inclusion of millets in school meals and home diets, recognising their immense nutritional and environmental value. As climate-resilient crops, millets thrive in low-water, non-irrigated areas, improve soil health, and require minimal chemical inputs—making them ideal for sustainable agriculture. Rich in fibre, vitamins, and minerals, they are gluten-free with a low glycaemic index, supporting good health. By embracing millets, we aim to cultivate environmentally conscious leaders who value sustainability and contribute to a healthier planet.
