Reading presents an excellent opportunity to experience exotic joys, albeit vicariously by living the character through the deftly scripted plot of the author. Such exultation is unrivalled. The key objective of the Read Programme (RP) is to develop a love for reading amongst students. The Scholastic Survey for Children’s Reading Habits discovered that 88% of chiling, something that will stretch their grip, their imaginations and open up the vault of magic in their lives’. The Read Programme is meant to ensure that a period of 35 minutes every week in the school schedule is employed for individual reading by each and every person on the campus. To evoke curiosity and interest idren want to read so the onus is on us to give them ‘something worth readn reading, the programme includes structured activities and presentations like the Read Rendezvous where students present skits, readings and reviews of any book included in their Read Programme list and showcase it in the assembly.
