Infrastructure

Far from the bustling urban environs, DPS Patna is situated near the Army Cantonment at Danapur in village Chandmari. The sylvan and pristine surroundings lend a serene touch to the impressive campus spread over several acres. A marvel of modern architecture, the campus contains well-lit airy classrooms, outdoor theatre, performing art block, cafeteria, spacious courtyards for indoor games, and beautifully landscaped lawns. The sprawling playgrounds, the integrated sports complex, half Olympic-size swimming pool, gymnasium and the arena make the school distinct in its objective of incorporating sports as a basic component of the curriculum.

Apart from other basic facilities which are kept clean and hygienic at all times, there are computer labs, resource centers, cafeteria, and a fully equipped gymnasium. All the classrooms are networked with computers and connected to servers and CD caches for instant access to a world of information. Technology plays an important role in the lives of the students and is manifest in almost all activities carried out.

The growing need for maintaining ecological balance is keenly observed by the school and we strive to contribute to keeping the Earth green and clean. Thus, rain-water harvesting, recycling of waste and creating awareness about the need for green through plantations and botanical garden are just but a few initiatives carried out to uphold this objective. Segregating waste into organic and inorganic is another step towards the motto of RECYCLE – RECHARGE – REUSE and all students from classes Nursery to XII are imbibed with the much needed value of recognizing their contribution towards minimization of carbon footprint.

The fleet of 54 buses which conform to the highest norms of safety and are manned by well-trained drivers and assistants cater to the commuting needs of the students. Apart from unforeseen delays, the clockwork precision with which the buses commute adheres clearly to the principle of punctuality.
