Parents Workshop Class I - Innovative Teaching and Learning Techniques

On the first Saturday of the month May, 2013, i.e on 4th May,2013 a Parents Workshop on Innovative Teaching and Learning Techniques was conducted for parents of class 1students by the teachers of class 1. This workshop aimed at briefing the different innovative teaching approach adopted by the school to gain all round development of its children. The parents were welcomed by Ms. Josy Joseph where she focused on the desire of every parent to have their children ahead from others and to meet their expectations is our constant effort.Ms. Shweta Dalvi elaborated the integral part of our school curriculum; Reading Programme. She put up an example of children imitating their elders in everything they do. So if we elders start cultivating the reading habit, it will definitely help our children in a positive way. Further it was told to the parents that to meet the urge of reading of our children we provide them with reading sheets in English as well as in Hindi. Tongue twister improves the pronunciation part of a child and at the same time we have writing sheets to improve their handwriting. The concept of five lines in Hindi notebook, four lines in English notebooks and squared boxes in math notebooks was also discussed with the parents.Ms. Shubhi Shekhar briefed about project week and project file prepared by teachers as well as by the students. The idea behind cooking activity and bioscope was also brought into the parents concern.s. Shilpi Mehrotra discussed the pattern of circle time and about different types of talk about cardsMs. Seema Choudhary explained the parents, the different Learning Centres present in the class room and how they help the children in different ways.Ms. Shivya Sonal discussed the innovations in teaching mathematics with the help Jodo Gyan kit and number board. And Ms. Manisha explained the different types of worksheets provided to the students for assessment and for practice. At the end Head Mistress Ms. Namrata Prasad, addressed the gathering with lot of valuable ideas to nurture the children in the best possible way.
