Investiture Ceremony 

Leadership is lifting a person’s vision to high sights, the raising of a person’s performance to a higher standard, and building of a personality beyond its normal limitations. Effective leadership is not about making speeches or being liked; leadership is defined by results not attributes. Thus, DPS Patna too in its attempt to uphold future leaders of our nation organizes its Investiture Ceremony with great regality and fervour in the presence of the parents of the selected students’ council members. On Friday, 3rd May, 2013, the earnestly awaited Investiture Ceremony was organized in the Senior Wing Campus in the refreshing morning hours with the welcoming of the parents of the newly selected members of the students’ council. The ceremony began with a traditional trend of chanting shlokas and a prayer song by the school choir under the guidance of the music department. The ceremonial rites were then carried out by the compeers Sayash Kapoor and Sabrina Khan who welcomed the parents, the Principal, Mr.B.Vinod, the Headmistress, Mrs.Namrata Prasad, teachers and students. This was followed by a wonderful speech highlighting the importance of Investiture Ceremony by Esha Gupta. The delegates of the students’ council then marched forward to the rhythmic beat to shoulder responsibilities and lead the school confidently in all its endeavours.Then the school Principal took to the stage to honour the members with the respected badge of honour to the newly appointed council. At this proud moment, holding their heads high, the Head Boy Vaibhav Kumar and the Head Girl, Neha Singh received the school flag from the Principal, who later administered the oath to the members of the Students’ Council. The Principal then addressed the council members and enlightened them with the responsibilities that they are reposed with, which was followed by the Takshila Gaan. The newly appointed Head Boy and Head Girl took the honour of rendering the vote of thanks. Finally, the ceremony was concluded with the National Anthem. It was an indelible moment for the members of the school council to have been honoured in the presence of hundreds of students, teachers and parents. The ceremony encrypted itself in the annals of DPS Patna, 2013-14.
