64TH INDEPENDENCE DAY AT SCHOOL

The day dawned fair and bright, bliss indeed the nation woke up breathing in the air of freedom to herald a new beginning. All and sundry were joyous at the thought of the Independence Day celebrations at school. We boarded the bus at 6 am sharp, to proceed to school. This day is a time to pay our respect to our pioneering forefathers for their strength of spirit, their unfailing courage and their indomitable commitment to their vision - a vision that culminated in a free and dauntless India. The programme at school commenced at 7.30am with the hoisting of the tricolour by our principal, Mr. B. Vinod thereafter followed by the National Anthem. The patriotic fervour was evident, the students, teachers & everyone present to witness the programme were feeling proud of their nation. The principal administered the pledge to uphold the dignity of the flag and to work with dedication for the motherland retaining the national integration. This followed his inspirational speech reminding us all that independence day is a day to look forward to tomorrows that are bright with opportunities still to be explored, untapped and attained. The compering of the day’s programme was done by Veera & Rishabh of Class XII C. Two patriotic songs by the junior wing choir added to the patriotic ambience in the air followed by the English speech by Somya Pragya to mark the momentous occasion, a day that fills our heart with overwhelming pride. Then, the Theatre Club presented an apt skit to show their respect to our fore fathers who gave their lives for us. It also exhibited the post independence requirement of education for the children of modern India, at the same time to make brain drain redundant for the development of the nation .The script was prepared and directed by Akanksha Bhushan of Class X. The Health & Fitness Club , under the guidance of Mr Pinaki Goswami and Mr Prasanta Kr Das came up with an ecstatic performance, that kept everyone spell bound. Suryanamaskar – a salutation to the sun God was performed by a group in a very synchronized manner. Gymnastics is an activity and sport involving performance of exercises requiring physical strength, flexibility, agility, co-ordination, balance, and grace. It was wonderful to witness another group of agile children performing a few of them. There were senior students of the same club to display four different kinds of breath taking pyramid formations with the spirit of flag holding high and marking the event aptly. The students performed their presentation with complete balance and concentration. This finally brought us to the end of a short but wonderful programme igniting our minds with the promise to uphold our nation’s freedom in any condition.
